African Food & Recreation
I hope I do not seem fat by writing about African food but one of the many things people traveling to Africa look forward to is the cuisine. I mean, there's soo much to eat and soo much being forced upon one to eat that one can actually spend their entire trip trying to eat everything available, while gaining pounds by the second. It's just amazing the varieties of food that is available. In Ghana, theres jelof, watche, kalami, akpele, (Excuse my spelling, I do not know how to speak Twi) and much more delicasies that one could eat that only seems like they taste better back home. And in Nigeria there's the suya and nkwobi that I have heard from others that can make a man "kolo". (crazy)
Well, back to the inspiration of me writing this blog in the first place; I went to a Nigerian home that in the house, it is illegal for one to not eat. I've eaten alot of Nigerian dishes but there was something about this specific dish I had that was just.......compelling. And while I was there, I had some of the best drumsticks in the world! It was like the perfect combination of flavors that can make one smile while eating it. Now thats when you know you are eating good. It was a combination of BBQ and Spicy African seasoning which was the key in the dish. I felt like a 2 year old with sauce all over my face but did'nt care at all because my mouth was very pleased with what I had just eaten. My nose running from the spiciness and hands covered with mouth-watering sauce, all I could do was just imagine of how back home I could be eating this chicken 24/7! Well, after returning to reality and thanking the cook for my brief trip to Naija Heaven, I realized that I was definetly not the only one who has experienced a life changing experience while eating because there are millions of Africans out there who share equal or bigger appetites as I do. So, I took it upon my self to write a blog about how delicious my dish was and want you too to share an experience when you have eaten something that just made you want just kiss the person who prepared the food and beg for seconds. Just leave a comment below to share your experience about your favorite dish or African food in general.
